These are our pictures from last week. It's been five months since I planned out to post a picture of our family every Sunday. There should be more than just nine Smile! Sunday posts. Some weeks we were sick and didn't go. Some weeks we forgot to get a picture, or take the camera. But my intention was to get more comfortable being in front of the camera, and I am getting to that point.

Smile! Sunday #8
We actually have been attending church more than I've been getting pictures. It just been harder than I thought, being busy getting out of church with three kids now and everyone else is busy, too.

Smile! Sunday #6
Yes, I'm still alive. I've been dealing with a sucking black hole of depression, but I'm still alive. I'm taking something that is starting to help, and I hope to be back to blogging in January. Lady Bug is doing awesome and is the prettiest, happiest little baby girl I've ever seen. We've been dealing with off and on sickness this whole month, so we didn't make it to church this Sunday to get our picture taken together. But Daddy took this picture of us today, and I love it.

Smile! Sunday #4
We went to church last week but I forgot our camera. Daddy and Lady Bug were sick and stayed home this week, but we still got our picture taken. When I committed to doing this, I didn't think about how boring the winter pictures would be if we never took our coats off. We need to fix that next week...

Smile! Sunday #2

Oops! Someone forgot to tell Early Bird to smile!
No airbrushing! No cropping.
But in the spirit of my attempt to be in more pictures I have been allowing the boys to take more pictures of me. Messy hair, messy house, and bad angles all. Here are a few of the results that aren't too bad.

Early Bird took the rest of these pictures! This is my Granny. <3

Someone To Take the Picture
I have literally 1,000's of pictures of my kids, starting from when Builder Boy was a baby. (Don't you love digital cameras?) I have 100's of pictures of my husband with our kids. I have very few of me with the kids, and even fewer of my husband and I together or together with our kids.
I've read several mommy blog posts and articles about moms needing to remember to have their pictures taken, too, and not being forgotten, unmemorialized. We're encouraged to have our picture taken even when our hair isn't perfect and we're wearing ratty clothes. That's a nice thought except....who's going to take the picture? When stuff is going on during the daytime, I'm the only one here to take pictures. I suppose I could always teach Builder Boy how to take my picture. But that still doesn't give us a picture of us as a family.
So I came up with the perfect answer: church. I'm guaranteed to be presentable at church and there are lots of people who we can have take a picture of all five of us. So using my blog as accountability to get me in the habit of having my picture taken, I am going to have a picture taken of our whole family every Sunday we go to church for a year and post them on here. I'm going to call it "Smile!" Sunday.
