By 1 she spoke clearly in sentences and her vocabulary just grew and grew. At 3 we were warned that educating her would be difficult. I was shocked my daughter was adults did keen and avid learner, why would it be difficult. The truth was the education system couldn't handle a 4 year old who took toys to pieces just to see how they worked, cost antlers carried books to read and prefered to converse with adults. Teachers aren't prepared to carry adults dictionary because she constantly demands the definition for new words she's found, they don't have time to adults swerve all her questions.
The best resource for a gifted child is a parent who gives them time and don't be scared to make that full time if necessary, I wish I had.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05596509199788288032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4201321209071458737.post-23006892227560643252015-04-23T22:49:49.228-06:002015-04-23T22:49:49.228-06:00Yep. She then gave us a referral to the Noah's Ark toy library so that we could borrow the puzzles and toys that we could afford to purchase. The book library and toy library and the entire contents of the kitchen cupboards were great sources of fun and learning for her but the regular baby care books were no help to me at all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4201321209071458737.post-26610782055565760872015-04-20T16:26:43.901-06:002015-04-20T16:26:43.901-06:00"So what do I do? I did the same thing - when Mad Natter was 3/4, I found a mama with gifted kids a bit older (and a bit younger) than Mad Natter, and badgered her into helping me NOT PANIC over his leaps. Go figure, that was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I have a lovely "new" friend who is not only a resource and a sounding board, but a *spectacular* partner in crime!
